If any of you are able to watch this film without burying your head in a cushion and screaming for your mum you are a braver person than I.
Stanley Kubrick’s terrifying horror classic The Shining (due to be shown at Bradford Film Theatre) sucks the viewer in with a quiet, relaxing beginning.
But the ominous soundtrack warns that all is not right.
Jack Torrance accepts a job as the winter caretaker at the Overlook Hotel, and brings his wife Wendy and young son Danny with him. Strange things start to happen, and in every scene Jack seems to be growing a little more unstable.
This is the original U.S. version of the film, never before now released in Europe.
And it’s being shown in time for the spookiest part of the year – Hallowe’en at Bradford Film Theatre.
