Interviewing famous celebrities, writing up reviews and creating your very own newspaper. Sound like fun?
Youngsters keen to follow in a career in journalism are invited to attend informative journalism workshops at Ilkley Literature Festival.
The events are aimed at teenagers (12-18 years) interested in print journalism.
Students will be given the chance to source, interview and write up news during the literature festival and enter into the spirit of a real life newsroom as they attempt to meet strict deadlines.
The courses are run by experienced journalist Andrea Hardaker who will guide youngsters through interview techniques, review writing skills and news-gathering to enable them to produce an informative newspaper reflecting the events at the festival.
There are two workshops available: Write a Review, (Saturday, Sept 29, 11am-4pm) and Make a Newspaper in a Day (Saturday October 13, 10.30am-4.30pm).
Tickets are only £5 and include tickets to see some of the biggest names at the festival.
